This is a very versatile necklace chain. It actually has a little suspender clip in the back that holds onto your pants or skirt offering an added element of style. The bells make a charming sound when you walk or move, so don't expect to sneak up on anyone wearing this little dear... Inspirational tidbits and lovely ladies

There are several artists and fashionistas, from the now and also from the past, that I thought I would share with you as a sort of documentation of what's inspiring Clover and Folly designs right now.

One very exciting discovery is of the illustrator and fantastical mixed media artist Kat Macleod. She's done illustrations for numerous books and advertisments, as well as magazines. Here are a few of her pieces that really got me:
Won Ton, anyone?

Yes please!
Theres really nothing better in life than a cocktail and your favorite book, together.
L.O.V.E. the gestural drawings and how she keeps the hair fluid by
letting the color bleed outside the lines.

Also to note is the fabulous fashionista from times past: Maxime de la Falaise. Besides being a style icon she was also a model, designer, writer, and accomplished cook. Her chic style was the inspiration of huge designers like Yves St. Laurent and Elsa Schiaparelli in the 1950's and she was included in Warhol's films in the 60's and 70's. Her association with Warhol was so close in fact that she was said to have been 'the factory mother'. Take a gander at a few of these lovely portraits of her throughout her life:

Fall Photo Shoot

Hi there All,

What we have here is the fall collection of Clover and Folly jewelry,
namely crocheted necklaces.
Each piece is, of course, made from second hand materials or antiques and
is therefore completely unique!
Somewhat unfortunately, most pieces have sold but I am currently working on
a full new set...
be sure to stay tuned in the upcoming weeks to check out the new wears.
"Aquarian Buttons", this beauty is made from vintage buttons, costume pearls, and
silver chain. It rests higher on the neck to accommodate
a variety of necklines.

Clasp detail in the back...

The "Pirate Chic Necklace" is a favorite for all those who
embrace the high seas.

A hand painted, wooden parrot friend hangs from the side of the necklace to
give an unexpected touch.

"Vintage Granny Buttons", this necklace is made from vintage gold and silver buttons and is braided on either side to show the hand crocheted chain.

Strike up a tune...

The "Nautical Button Necklace", a perfect addition to that
navy and cream polka dot dress you have been dying to sport to the movies,
on a date, or shopping. This necklace would also pair well with the classic dark jeans
and a tee.

The "Black Bead Necklace", a favorite among the
little black dress wearers of the world,
is made from vintage plastic beads and costume pearls.

Fancy tulip clasp detail in the back...

The "Tan and Glam Button Necklace" mixes a vintage gold chain with the hand crocheted wire to create an overall stunning piece of jewelry that is easy to throw on and cruise out of the house.

The gold chain makes this accessory a stunning addition to your favorite outfit.

The "Gold and Pink Necklace" also pairs gold chains and hand crocheted buttons
to create a statement piece that is sure to turn some heads.

Detail shot...
